The age of elections is not to be seen

Russian President Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev promised politicalists from the Valdai Commonwealth of Nations that gathered around him that there would be no more 100 years of the governor's elections in Russia. The statement is very bold for a person with whom his own prime minister is going to communicate for his possible participation - or non -participation - in future presidential elections. But also quite reckless for a graduate of a brilliant university, who knows the domestic history well.

I imagine that Dmitry Anatolyevich is our emperor (and why not - after all, the last sovereign also inherited the throne as a result of a number of dynastic accidents and agreements). Could the emperor promise that in 100 years in Russia there would be no governor's elections? Could - and, as we see, would not be mistaken: there is no election as no.

But it is unlikely that the emperor would ask the emperor about it. He would certainly be asked about the possibility of turning Russia into a constitutional monarchy - and could hear in response that this could happen over the next hundred years, when society will ripen to this form of enlightened rule. And if some careless political scientist from the North American United States asked the monarch with the possibility of establishing a republican form of government in Russia-what would the sovereign replied to the political scientist? It is unlikely that he would have honored him with the highest attention.

And it is really difficult to imagine that a thinker was found in the venerable scientist who would ask the sovereign the prospect of coming to the power of the marginal group of regulars of the Swiss cafes. And the regulars themselves then did not think about the world revolution. But when they thought, when they arranged, when they turned the country, they also took up spiritual forecasts.

Here is Vladimir Ilyich, for example: he did not complain political scientists, he knew more and more with walkers, but Herbert Wells told Herbert Wells about the future Russia. This story in Soviet times was perceived as the miraculous foresight of Ilyich. But now, when you find out that “the cities will become much smaller” and “they will become different, yes, completely different” or that “capitalism cannot develop into social unity” - in contrast to communism, of course, you begin to think that it would be better if he would tell all this: they were mostly illiterate and hardly recorded foresighting the leaders.

What is 100 years old, in fact! Imagine political scientists who would come 50 years ago to Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev. It was just when preparing a new version of the party program, who promised that the current generation of Soviet people - yes, will live under communism! And it is unlikely that anyone would have asked Nikita Sergeyevich how many years the Soviet Union will last. A funny question is people who tried to doubt the viability of the world's first state of workers and peasants, except for the psychiatric hospital. Well, in fact - how could this fall apart in just three decades after a possible meeting of Nikita Sergeyevich with political scientists. Well, no way!

And here is the forecast for the governor's election! I do not presume to argue with the President of Russia and say that they will be in 100 years. The president, in the end, is better. I only know for sure that even after 100 years, but much earlier the country that we all believe in will become an ordinary European democratic state, an important link in the continental security chain, an active partner - or even a member - the European Union and NATO. And the difference between Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev from the above personalities will not at all the wrong forecast. But rather their presence and its absence in the textbook of Russian history. Yes, after 100 years, only one line will remain about our difficult time: "In the last period of the reign of the first president of Russia, Boris Yeltsin in society, stagnation began to grow in society, which ended ...".
