A criminal case was opened against the post of head of Derbent before the election.

The criminal case under the article “slander” was instituted against the former prosecutor of Dagestan, and now one of the main applicants for the post of head of the city of Derbent Imam Yaraliev. As the Gazeta.Ru was informed in the Investigative Department of the SCP for Dagestan, on October 1, 2009, they received a statement by the officer of the Federal Security Service of Russia for Dagestan Dmitry Karamzin about the slander of his address from Yaraliev and citizen Murad Babaev.

On this application against Babaev and Yaraliev on October 5, a criminal case was opened under Art. 129, part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, it was transferred to the department for the investigation of particularly important cases. The maximum punishment under this article is an arrest of up to 6 months.

The election of the head of Derbent should take place on October 11, and this is not the first election scandal: earlier 75 police officers Derbent said that they were forced to vote ahead of schedule for the current head of the city of Felix Casiasimedov, which comes from United Russia. For refusing to submit, the command of the battalion was brought to disciplinary liability.

Previously, the proxies of two candidates at once - Salikha Ramazanov and Imam Yaraliev - complained to the CEC of violations in the formation of precinct election commission. According to them, the district election commissions included, in violation of the law, several close relatives of the very current head of the city of Felix Casiakhmetov, for whom they force local policemen to vote.

"The entire election campaign preceding the elections scheduled for October 11 is held in an atmosphere of serious administrative pressure on voters and election commissions in order to ensure the victory in the election of the current mayor," the complaint of Yaraliev said.

In total, 7 people were registered with candidates in the election of the head of this municipality. The main applicants for the post of head of the city are Casiasimedov, whose candidacy was supported by the United Russia party and the leadership of the republic, and Yaraliyev, who is in the opposition to the President of Dagestan Mukh Aliyev.
