In the Vologda region, during the dismantling work in one of the workshops of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant Severstal, part of the roof of the main corps fell on Thursday. Information about the victims as a result of an emergency varies: the Ministry of Emergencies reports two dead, but the press service of the enterprise reports about three wounded, she has no information about the victims.

"Today at 11:15 Moscow time, a partial collapse of the roof of the plant building occurred. It was mothballed and prepared for dismantling," ITAR-TASS was told by telephone in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Vologda Oblast. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, at that moment, there were 15 workers there, three of them were under the rubble.

According to the head of the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Vologda Oblast Viktor Kovalkov, as a result of the collapse of the roof, two people died on Chermk, one is in extremely serious condition in intensive care, Interfax reports. "Two men, born in 1966 and 1986, were killed, since heavy metal structures collapsed on them," Kovalkov said. He noted that the analysis of the rubble will be suspended due to the onset of darkness and will resume on Friday.

Meanwhile, the press service of Severstal with reference to the technical director-chief engineer of the plant Andrei Lutsenko reported that the collapse of part of the roof of the main building of the plant occurred during the dismantling work of the Martinovsky workshop. According to the representative of North Rudnik-LLC Sergey Korobov, the specialists team worked at the dismantling of the building of the Martenovsk shop for two months.

The Martenovsky workshop Chermk was disabled in November 2008 due to the fall of production volumes. Over the past months, work was carried out on the territory of the Martinovsky site to dismantle equipment.
