Microsoft: Work on Windows 8 and Windows 9 has already begun

Microsoft has already begun work on Windows 8 and Windows 9 operating systems, despite the fact that its latest Windows 7 OS has not even officially went on sale.

This, according to the Rformer , with reference to the Arstechnica publication, said Robert Morgan, head of the Microsoft Research and Development Department.

In particular, it became known from him that the software giant is developing a 128-bit architecture of the Windows 8 and Windows 9 nucleus. There are currently negotiations on support for 128-bit architecture with such computer iron manufacturers as Intel, AMD, HP and IBM.

Earlier it was already reported that Windows 7 will be the last OS company with versions supporting 32 and 64-bit architecture. So, Windows Server 2008 R2, the Windows 7 server version will already be released only with support for 64 bits.
