At the Mature United Union of the Christians, the Vera of the Gospel (Roskhwe), which was held on the eve of the Russian United Union, was accepted by the appeal to the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, in which the support of the thesis contained in the article "Russia, forward!" , and contain a number of proposals, which, according to the authors of the appeal, could supplement the message of the President with the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Here is the text of the appeal of Russian Pentecostals, signed by Bishop Sergei Ryakhovsky and widespread by the press service of Roskhwe:
"Dear Dmitry Anatolyevich!
We, clergy and ordinary believers, participants in the Small Council of the Russian United Union of Christians of the Vera of the Gospel (Pentecostal) want to express our support to the theses voiced by you in the article "Russia forward!".
Your words about the need to preserve spiritual values, strengthening the interethnic and interfaith world are very timely. To protect them is our common task, since any religion is based on the fundamental values of good, peacefulness and compassion, which are the moral basis of the everyday life of people.
In this regard, any discrimination of religious associations, violation of the constitutional principle of their equality before the law is unacceptable.
We also completely share your concern that "we are getting less and less every year." Alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction reduce the life of millions of our fellow citizens. It is no coincidence, according to the forecasts of the UN Foundation for Population, the population of Russia for these reasons in the coming years can be reduced by 25 million people.
This deplorable trend cannot be overcome without the active participation of Russian faiths.
First of all, in religious families, the culture of many children is popular, there is a complete ban on abortion, and in Russian traditional gospel families, complete abstinence from drinking alcohol was rooted. Religious organizations have an invaluable experience in the prevention of drunkenness, alcoholism, drug addiction in society, propaganda of a healthy lifestyle and effective assistance to our fellow citizens, who found themselves in the shackles of these vices.
Given this, we propose to include the thesis of the need for comprehensive support from the state of social programs and projects of religious organizations working in this area in the text of your message to the Federal Assembly.
We are ready to build a new, free, prosperous and strong Russia with you!
With respect and prayer for you,
Chairman of the Russian United Union of Christians of the Vera of the Gospel (Pentecostal) Bishop S.V. Ryakhovsky "
