The lawsuit on the lawsuit of the grandson of Stalin Yevgeny Dzhugashvili against Novaya Gazeta began in August, the plaintiff demanded from the Novaya Gazeta, which published the article “Beria’s guilty”, compensation of 10 million rubles. All this time, Evgenia Dzhugashvili supported two dozen elderly men and women: in the corridor of the court, they loudly discussed the virtues of Lenin and Stalin, called the repressed "lousy sheep, which had to be isolated from society," and they said that everything was fine under Stalin: everything was fine: everything was fine:
- We are for the Motherland, we are for Stalin. Therefore, we are here. A lot of lies, a lot of garbage was applied to Stalin's grave.
The supporters of Stalin were not allowed to the court hearings, but they were allowed to announce the decision. Hearing that the lawsuit was not satisfied, they shouted loudly: "Shame!" The lawyer Yevgeny Dzhugashvili Yuri Mukhin is also dissatisfied with the decision. He believes that the judge acted unprofessional and biased:
- There were gross violations of the procedural code. For example, the court made a decision without examining evidence - this also needs to be able to, because there were evidence, and they were not investigated. Then we invited the witness, but the judge refused. Strasbourg looks at this business badly.
The lawyer of Novaya Gazeta Alexei Benetsky and Ironia noted that for the first time in recent years the Basmanny Court, known for his not too objective sentences for a number of high -profile processes, made a fair decision.
The grandson of Joseph Stalin Yevgeny Dzhugashivili outraged the article by Anatoly Yablokov "Beria was guilty." The author, talking about the execution of Polish officers near Katynya, wrote that Stalin personally gave the order about this, while in the end all the wine was officially entrusted to Lavrenty Beria. Anatoly Yablokov referred to decorated archival materials. In addition to them, many scientific works, video materials and even school textbooks were brought to the meeting room to demonstrate that Stalinist repressions are not a myth, as fans of the “father of peoples” claim, but a historical fact.
The editor -in -chief of the Pravda Gulag application Oleg Khlebnikov shares his impressions of the process:
The difficulty in the same thing in which was in Nuremberg with Hitler, that is, in the impossibility of judging a dead person. But to condemn Stalinism, Stalin, as you can call it, it seems to us necessary to eliminate the terrible split that exists in our society
- The feeling, of course, is such an absurd theater. Everything that the side of the plaintiffs said was just behind the line of good and evil, at least some kind of common sense. Well, for example, Stalin was proclaimed the first democrat, since he gave the first democratic constitution to the country. I think that Henry Reznik said more precisely, expressing our common desire: we consider this process as a kind of nuremberg's threshold. Generally speaking, we started the trial "The trial of Stalin" long before this lawsuit of the grandson of Stalin Evgeny Dzhugashvili to Novaya Gazeta appeared. Moreover, even the article by Yablokov was published under this section "The trial of Stalin." It is clear what is legal complexity. The difficulty in the same thing in which was in Nuremberg with Hitler, that is, in the impossibility of judging a dead person. But to condemn Stalinism, Stalin, as you can call it, it seems to us necessary to eliminate the terrible split that exists in our society. This can be seen even in the corridor of the court, when these poor old women, who, in general, sorry, proclaim all sorts of health in honor of Stalin. And all the others who do not like Stalin are called exclusively "Jews", sorry. These are marginals. But there are, unfortunately, people are younger, less aggressive, nevertheless, in some delusion about the role of Stalin, no matter what. Well, yes, there were excesses, yes, he repressed someone superfluous there, but then ... And they say further: victory in the war, industrialization ... complete nonsense! Because the victory in the war was achieved not thanks to Stalin, but contrary to, since we know how many commanders of the Red Army he shot on the eve of the war ...
The Polish journalist, the correspondent of the Vetsklav Radzivinovo , also watched the court of the Polish journalist, and the theme of the execution of Polish officers near Katynya, also watched. Vaclav hopes that this process will make the Russians think once again how they actually relate to Stalinist repression:
- In Poland, there is no problem with the assessment of Stalinist crimes, it can even be said that in Poland there is no problem with the evaluation of Katyn. We understand that to kill innocent people due to the fact that they belong, for example, to some class or some kind of nation, it is bad that this cannot be done. This topic is very important for Russia. Because it seems that the Renaissance of Stalinism is taking place in Russia, the revival of these long -standing conservative Stalinist ideas. And this does not allow you to answer the question: to kill innocent people for the sake of some higher interest of the state - is it good or bad? Was Stalin an effective manager or was he a criminal?
On the significance of the trial "Evgeny Dzhugashvili against Novaya Gazeta" is reasoned by the observer of Radio Liberty, historian Vladimir Tolts :
- the significance of the decision of the Basmanny Court, who refused to satisfy the lawsuit of the grandson of Joseph Stalin Evgeny Dzhugashvili about the protection of the honor and dignity of grandfather, can be considered in several plans. In terms of public, it is undoubtedly satisfied with all sane people. In Russia, historical mythology is invariably built with an eye on the opinion of the authorities. And the definition of Stalin who received a certain “approving” on top as an “effective manager” immediately served as a magical fertilizer for the authoritarian hollyfront of mass historical consciousness, for the idealization of state violence and torture, as well as attempts to justify obvious villains, and the stupidity of the past. And such a court decision serves as a kind of cold shower for carriers of these trends. However, on those who crowded in the corridor of the Basmanny Court, constantly a tambourine about the Jewish imperialist sabotage against the genius of all times and peoples, about the bright Soviet past, when no one was shot, well, and if anyone was shot, it was and necessary, and this court decision does not work much. But the fact that the court refused to demand from the main military prosecutor's office of Russia the materials of Katyn case about the execution of Polish officers in 1940 in the Smolensk region (the case of the General of the NKVD Pavel Sudoplatov, which was requested by the defendants, and a number of documents from the FSB archive, which the plaintiff requested), as a historian, regrets me. The more documents are brought to the general public, the, in my opinion, its ideas about the past, about history, can become more adequate. Actually, they are built on the adequacy of the perception of the present.

Representatives of the grandson of Stalin Yevgeny Dzhugashvili said they were ready to initiate a new court lawsuit against Novaya Gazeta. The lawyers of the publication believe that this process also has no prospects.
