On Sunday morning, the Ingush oppositionist was killed, the former owner of the Ingushetia.org website Maksharip Aushev. At the entrance to Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, neighboring Ingushetia, unknown, expectedly moving in a VAZ -21112 car, shot a Lada-Prior car, in which Maksharip Aushev and his cousin were shot from machine guns. Aushev died on the spot, a woman with severe wounds went to the hospital.
More than 60 sleeves from automatic weapons were found at the site of the shelling. A criminal case has been instituted under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: 105 (murder) and 222 (illegal turnover of weapons). The case was referred for further investigation to the Main Investigation Department of the Southern Federal District.
Maksharip Aushev - friend and ally of the owner of the Ingushetia.Ru portal Magomed Evloev, who was shot in a police car in August 2008. After that, Aushev took over the leadership of the portal. Then, in his house, the security forces conducted searches several times. After the resignation of the President of the Republic, Murat Zyazikov and the parish of Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the opposition, resigned the powers of the project owner (later Ingushetia.Ru changed the domain name to Ingushetia.org). Maksharip Aushev was a member of the Expert Council of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia.
According to Tatyana Lokshina, head of the Moscow representative office of the Human Rights Watch Human Rights Watch agency, Aushev’s murder shows that the struggle for human rights in the North Caucasus has become a “form of suicide”. Recall that in neighboring Chechnya several human rights activists have been killed in recent years - a member of the Memorial Natalya Estemirova and the leader of the non -governmental organization “We will save the generation” Zarem Saydulaev and her husband Alik Dzhabrailov.
The publication of Ingushetia.org is not in doubt about the versions of Aushev’s murder: “There is no doubt that his execution, as in the case of the murder of Magomed Evloev, is involved in security forces,” the site says. “State terror has become on the territory of Ingushetia by the method of destroying disagreements.”
The President of Ingushetia Yunus Bek Evkurov , who himself survived this summer, called the “vile crime”, which was aimed at “destabilizing the situation in the republic,” and promised to make every effort to find the killers. On Sunday evening, Yevkurov visited Aushev's family.
Maksharip Aushev, who criticized the former President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov for corruption and lawlessness of security forces, was in good relations with Evkurov, who is trying to fight corruption and determine the warring clans. In an interview with The New York Times, Tatyana Lokshina said that Ausheva’s murder raises the question of how much Yevkurov owns the situation in the republic.
On September 15, Aushev tried to kidnap. On the way from Magas, where he met with the head of the UFSB department to combat extremism, his car was stopped to verify documents. Then Aushev was offered to sit in the Gazelle, and 5-6 people began to surround him. Aushev suspected that they wanted to kidnap him, and escaped from the encirclement. The assistant to the chairman of the government of Ingushetia arrived at the scene, after which attempts to detain Aushev stopped. People explained their behavior to the representative of the government by the fact that Aushev’s car, in their opinion, is listed in theft.
