A plane with the drug against the flu Tamifly arrived in Ukraine

On Monday, the antiviral drug Ozeltamivir (the trade name "Tamifly") was delivered to Ukraine from Switzerland on Monday. Three hundred thousand doses of the drug are designed for the treatment of A/H1N1 influenza, the epidemic of which covered Ukraine. “Such an amount is enough to provide all hospitals and ambulance of Ukraine. Everyone who goes to hospitals, if necessary, will receive this drug immediately and for free,” the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state said in a statement.

At the Boryspil International Airport, the An-12 aircraft was met with a valuable cargo by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, the head of the Presidential Secretariat Vera Ulyanchenko and Foreign Minister Petro Poroshenko, the press service said.

It should be noted that the Russian Research Institute of Influenza of the RAMS does not recommend using Tamiflu for treatment and prevention: it has many expensive and side effects. The head of the President’s Secretariat expressed the hope that the presence at the airport of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will contribute to the most rapidly customs clearance of drugs and their operational delivery to all regions of Ukraine and, above all, in which quarantine was announced in connection with the influenza epidemic.

Ulyanchenko emphasized the inadmissibility of the speculative sale of the Tamiflu drug.

Last week in the west of Ukraine, an outbreak of flu A/H1N1 was noted. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, over the past week, due to the flu epidemic and acute respiratory viral infections (SARS), 53 people died.

Earlier it was reported that in the west of Ukraine, from 80 to 90 thousand people fell ill in the west of Ukraine. On Friday, the Ministry of Health announced the epidemic in the country of high -toe -aged flu. The government declared quarantine in nine regions of Ukraine in the west of the country and banned public events throughout the country.
