British Foreign Minister David Milibend will continue negotiations in Moscow with Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov today.
The ministers are discussing urgent international problems, in particular, the situation in Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear program, as well as issues of bilateral relations.
The UK remains an important international partner in Moscow and occupies one of the first places in investment in Russia, ”said Andrei Nesterenko, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Miliband is the first head of the British Foreign Ministry to visit Russia over the past five years. Relations between countries worsened after the murder in London in 2006 of a former employee of the Russian intelligence services Alexander Litvinenko.
