On Thursday, Moscow's Basmanny Court condemned 13 anti-fascists who were detained the day before after the sanctioned action "Russians against fascism" (see "New" dated 05.11.09).

Recall that an hour after the end of the anti-fascist rally near the Chistye Prudy metro station, more than 35 participants in the rally were detained by police officers in civilian clothes near Kitay-Gorod. According to the detainees, they were collected "in all the neighborhoods" - someone was detained near the metro, someone - at the nearby McDonald's ... Some young people were taken directly to the cafe, where they had a rest after the action. According to one of the detainees, the anti-fascists were identified by their appearance - some of the guys had “informal” clothes or hairstyles.

They were all taken to the Basmannoye police station, where they were fingerprinted and photographed. A few hours later, the guys were informed that they violated the rules for holding a rally (Art. 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) and disobeyed the lawful demands of policemen (Art. 19.3). The operatives claimed that they were walking in a crowd, chanting "Death to fascism." After the presentation of charges, the anti-fascists were offered to sign the relevant protocol. Some managed to write that they were not guilty of anything, some were threatened.

“I didn’t want to sign anything, but they told me that if I didn’t sign, they would put me in jail for 15 days,” one of the detainees said. The guys managed to get through to the organization “For Human Rights”, its employee came to the department, but the human rights activist was not allowed to see the detainees. They refused to respond to a request from a Novaya correspondent about those detained on November 4 at the Basmannoye police station.

Later, the minor "informals" were taken away by their parents, the remaining 13 people spent the night in the department. On Thursday, the case of anti-fascists was considered in the Basmanny Court. Each detainee was interviewed separately. According to one of the detainees, the judge was “favorable” and “understood everything”, after which he announced to everyone a punishment in the form of a minimum fine of 500 rubles.
