
One of the largest winery enterprises of Moldova "Aroma" filed a lawsuit about its own bankruptcy. As the Minister of Agriculture and the Food Industry of Moldova Valery Kosarchuk said in Chisinau, the industry department submitted to the courts a statement on the recognition of the insolvency of this enterprise, the 100%package of which belongs to the state.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova noted that the "aroma" has accumulated debts in the amount of $ 260 million ($ 23.5 million), and half of them are debt on bank loans. Liquid assets of the company are estimated at only 185 million lei ($ 16.7 million).
According to the Minister, the volume of Aroma sales in 2009 amounted to 17 million lei ($ 1.5 million), while the company's losses in eight months of 2009 amounted to 15 million lei ($ 1.35 million). Only to pay interest on bank loans, the enterprise is necessary monthly 2.6 million lei (240 thousand dollars).
According to RBC , Kosarchuk emphasized that a criminal case has been instituted against the former director of Aroma. According to him, there were no effective managers at the enterprise. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova noted that after the start of the insolvency procedure, the "aroma" will be controlled by an external administrator.
"Aroma" is one of the largest and oldest wine -making enterprises of Moldova. In 2008, it celebrated its 110th anniversary. The company specializes in the production of a divin (cognac) and other strong drinks, as well as the processing and roslice of wines.
