As ITAR-TASS reported in the operational headquarters to eliminate the consequences of snowfall and ice, at the moment, 21 sand-spreading cars, 65 tractors, 5 graders, 1 rotary snow subload, 4 dump trucks and 9 snow) are operating on Vladivostok highway. More than 240 people are involved in the cleaning of underground and above -ground pedestrian crossings, stopping points and sidewalks along the main highways.
Vladivostok airport is still operating in normal mode. According to weather conditions, only one flight was canceled - to Seoul. Six more flights are delayed with arrival and six - with a departure.
According to weather forecasts, the cessation of precipitation in the west of the region is expected in the morning on Sunday, in the east - on Monday night. The total amount of precipitation for the entire snowfall period will be from 20 to 50 mm. It is also expected to strengthen wind to 8-13 m/s, on the coast - up to 25 m/s. In some places a snowstorm, strong ice phenomena and snow roller.
Over the past month, two heavy snowfalls have already passed in the Primorsky Territory, which is unusual for this time of the year. Forecasters also note other weather anomalies.
According to the head of the Primorsky Regional Hydrometeorological Center Boris Cuba, this year the average air temperature in the region was eight degrees below normal. "Winter this year we got early and more snowy, especially when compared with the last years, when the winter was warmer and less snowy," he said.
