C "Bulava" again everything is not smooth

The control launch of the "maces", carefully preparing after a series of failures, again did not justify hopes. Until yesterday late in the evening, the officials of the Navy and the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering did not comment on the test and its results, today's “ Rossiyskaya Gazeta ” writes.

Only the head of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Vladimir Verkhovtsev, indirectly outlined the hot theme of yesterday, as if by the way told reporters that "the nuclear combat unit for the intercontinental ballistic missile" Bulava "of the sea base is a long time." And with her, according to Verkhovtsev, there was no "and there were no problems." That's just to put this "head" for now, the newspaper notes.

Recall that the previous unsuccessful trials of the Bulava missile, developed at the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering, took place on July 15, 2009. The heavy atomic missile cruiser Dmitry Donskoy produced the trial of the rocket from the White Sea of ​​the White Sea, but due to the emergency response of the first step, the rocket was self-destructed. It became known about the failure of the tests only the next day. A possible reason for the failure was then called the burden of the rocket body, which caused the trajectory of its flight.

The investigation of the incident was entrusted with the special commission of the Ministry of Defense, which then stated that as one of the main versions was considered by a malfunction of the gas generator.

Since 2003, out of the 12 previous test launches of the Bulava (including casting), six failed. From December 23 last year, tests were suspended. Later, the military assured that all the shortcomings were identified and eliminated, and that the Ministry of Defense ordered the first series of missiles, the tests of which will end this year. Sergei Ivanov, responsible for the military-industrial complex, explained the previous unsuccessful launches of the "maces" by the fact that about 650 enterprises are involved in the creation of the rocket, so it is impossible to track the quality of all the missile units.

Bulava missile (RSM -56 - for use in international treaties and SS -NX -30 - according to NATO classification) - the latest solid fuel ballistic missile. The development of the missile is conducted by the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering, which previously developed a Topol-M Topic Top-based Rocket.

The Bulava marine strategic missile system can carry up to 10 nuclear blocks of individual guidance. The radius of action "Bulava" is 8 thousand kilometers. The ballistic missile of marine base should be the main for the latest strategic missile carriers, which are now being built at Sevmash enterprise: Yuri Dolgoruky, Alexander Nevsky and Vladimir Monomakh.

It is assumed that by 2010 the construction of the three latest underwater missile carriers should be completed. Since December 2003, the Bulava missiles have been tested at Dmitry Donskoy, converted to Sevmash, which was converted to Sevmash.
