Criminal authority has been detained in Moscow

Employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Central Federal District, together with representatives of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Vladimir Region, detained a major criminal authority engaged in extortion in Moscow, Interfax reports. The detention occurred in the southeast of Moscow in an apartment on Volgogradsky Prospekt.

"On suspicion of extortion, a man was detained who, according to law enforcement agencies, controlled criminal activities in the Petushinsky district of the Vladimir region," the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Central Federal District said.

The press service clarified that the detained 36-year-old native of Kazakhstan is known in the criminal world under the nickname Belyai.

“The man has already been in prison for extortion and theft twice. He spent eight years in prison in a total of a total of eight years,” said the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The press service said that the police managed to establish the fact of extortion by criminal authority and his improvised money from one of the entrepreneurs in the Vladimir region, with whom one of his subordinates quarreled. Belyai made an appointment in a roadside cafe, and when he arrived at the meeting, he took the keys to him from the SUV belonging to him and disappeared.

“At first, the victims were brutally beaten, and then under the threat of weapons in the trunk of a car was taken to the forest, where they continued to beat,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Currently, a criminal case has been instituted against the detainee under Article 166 of the Criminal Code ("unlawful seizure of a car").
