Recall that Khodorkovsky and Lebedev in 2005 were sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of fraud and tax evasion. And in 2006, the second criminal case was opened against them on charges of legalizing 450 billion rubles and $ 7.5 billion from 1998 to 2004.

New accusations are associated with the theft of shares belonging to the state, as well as the appropriation of oil and the legalization of funds proceeds from its sale. As part of the second case, Khodorkovsky and Lebedev are also accused of embezzlement of property on large and especially large sizes using official position. According to the aggregate of these crimes, a punishment of up to 22 years in prison is provided. Both were delivered from places of imprisonment by the first sentence to Moscow and are contained during the process in the SIZO Sailor Silence.

According to the investigation, the accused in the organized group in 1998-2003 committed theft by assigning large volumes of oil of subsidiathly joint-stock companies of the NK Yukos, Samaraneftegaz, Yuganskneftegaz and Tomskneft in the amount of more than 892 billion rubles.

They are also suspected of legalizing a large amount received from the sale of oil stolen in the specified period for a total amount exceeding 487 billion rubles and $ 7.5 billion. The materials of the criminal case are 168 volumes. The defendants do not admit their guilt.
