In Russia, leather shoes can significantly rise in price. According to Vedomosti, the Federal Customs Service in the risk profile for imported shoes set a minimum customs value for it. In accordance with this document, from January 1, 2010, a control level of prices for leather shoes in the risk profile is doubled. Shoes from Europe and the USA (except for expensive brands) now cannot be estimated cheaper than $ 30 per pair, and from China - cheaper than 21 dollars. The customs duty on shoes is 10 percent, importers will pay 2 dollars from a pair from China, and from Europe - $ 3, the publication indicates.

"A large wholesaler per year will import about 500,000 pairs of shoes and if you previously paid taxes and customs fees of $ 7 per pair, now - $ 9.5 (taking into account deliveries from different countries), that is, it will be necessary to add $ 1.25 million, and this is a serious business blow," a large import importer explained.

Experts surveyed by the publication say that now importers will have to prove the FCS through the court that there are leather shoes with a purchase price of $ 5. The purchase price of half the shoes sold in Russia is less than the installed customs, says a representative of a large retail network. According to him, this spring, after receiving new collections, the shoes will rise in price by 10-15 percent.

The President of the Russian Union of Kozhevniks and Trainers, Alexander Andrunakievich, told the newspaper that the low customs value gives importers an advantage over Russian manufacturers. Therefore, she welcomes the decision of the FCS.
