Russian President Dmitry Medvedev decided to create the North Caucasian Federal District, which includes the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Chechen Republic and the Stavropol Territory with the center of the federal district in city ​​of Pyatigorsk.

Including the fact that the federal center wants to see our problems, moreover, not as part of the Southern Federal District, but as part of a separate project, such as the North Caucasian Federal District. The appointment of such a strong manager as Khloponin once again confirms what President Medvedev spoke about in his message - it is necessary to focus on the socio-economic development of the Caucasian regions. He does not represent power structures, he is a manager, a manager. Of course, many were waiting for the security officer, but this did not come as a surprise to us. There are enough security forces in the Caucasus: both the president of Ingushetia and the president of Chechnya ... We have no shortage of military experience - we need a manager who could correctly allocate resources.

The new plenipotentiary is also vested with the powers of the vice-premier. That is, the new leader in the region is not only a representative of the president, he also carries the powers of the government, which, hopefully, will increase its effectiveness.

Khloponin is positioned in Russia as an economically successful leader. The Krasnoyarsk Territory is a donor region. Let's hope that Mr. Khloponin was thrown into the North Caucasus so that he could make an economic breakthrough here, which would bring with him the solution of many social issues. When the entire industry is concentrated on the banks of the Volga, the Ob or the Urals, this is good, but, believe me, the industrial potential of the Caucasus is no less, we have many free hands, and they need to be used.
