The story about Newton's apple was posted on the Internet

The website of the British Royal Society ( royalsociety.org ) contains the original story, which is known to everyone who has studied physics since childhood. The British posted a scan of the manuscript of Isaac Newton’s friend and biographer, William Stukeley, on the Internet.

“After lunch the weather became warm, we went out into the garden and drank tea in the shade of the apple trees. He (Newton) told me that he was in the same place as before, and gravity was on his mind. He was in a contemplative mood when suddenly an apple fell from a branch. “Why do apples always fall perpendicular to the ground?” - he thought. This is how Stuckley describes the very episode that led Newton to the formulation of the Law of Universal Gravitation.

This and many other documents have been digitized and posted online in connection with the 350th anniversary of the Society.
