Chechnya President Ramzan Kadyrov called the interview of Vakhi Umarov, who claimed that the activities of the famous terrorist Dokurov Umarov were financed by representatives of the Chechen authorities. It is reported by a href = "http://www.interfax.ru" Target = "_ Blank"> Interfax.
"The Western media found a person ready to tell fairy tales about the situation in the Chechen Republic. Previously, they systematically became the mouthpiece of Basayev, Hattaba, Maskhadov. They were destroyed. Now they found some Vakhu Umarov, which, apparently, except for the correspondent who took an interview, no one really knows anything," he said.
According to him, the purpose of publication is "the desire to create the appearance of the presence in the North Caucasus of large forces of illegal armed groups, to force terrorist sponsors to allocate new and generous donations, to scare potential investors with conversations about the threat of energy, hydraulic structures, transport communications."
Kadyrov also made a connection between the time of the appearance of the interview and the creation of a new federal district in the North Caucasus. “In conditions when political scientists, analysts, representatives of large business seriously spoke that the time had come to raise the south of Russia, the owners of the terrorists, their conductors fussed. They decided to give birth to a certain Umarov to promote him, put him in the mouth of the horror stories and force those who wanted to come to the region with money, change their intentions,” he said.
As the President of Chechnya noted, the authorities never paid anything to the terrorists. "Where the money comes from - it is known to the whole world. They come from Western countries," Kadyrov said.
Earlier, the brother of the Chechen militants of Dokarov, Vakha, said in an interview with Reuters that only the current leadership of the Chechen Republic finances militants. According to him, ministries transfer money to militants, and Kadyrov’s military detachments supply them with weapons. Vakha Umarov believes that Kadyrov's associates do this so that in case of the separatists victory, it is possible to remind them of their support.
Kadyrov’s spokeswoman Alvi Karimov said that he did not know who Vakha Umarov is, had never heard of him before, and refused to comment on his statements. Umarov himself said that he lives in Turkey, does not participate in the activities of illegal gangs, but regularly communicates with his brother and is ready to come to Russia when it will be needed.
Vakha Umarov also stated that his brother is still hiding in Chechnya. According to him, about 3 thousand people of Dokarov are in the republic, and there are about 5 thousand in the Caucasus in total.
Kadyrov recently called one of his main goals the destruction of Dok Umarov. In the republic, special operations are regularly held to search for the leader of the gang underground.
