In the Magadan region, more than 200 children were picked up by intestinal flu

The outbreak of acute intestinal flu was recorded in the Magadan region, more than 200 children fell ill in January, most of them are younger than three years old, the Russia 24 television channel reports on Sunday.

According to the doctors, foreign fruits that were given in kindergartens were the reason for the infection - the peel of bananas, apples and citrus fruits was infected, the report said.

Currently, despite the security measures taken, the infection continues to spread already by airborne droplets.

Symptoms of infection: temperature up to 40 degrees, acute abdominal pain. The causative agent of the intestinal flu is transmitted when the polluted food or water products are used.

Infection occurs through fresh vegetables, ice cream, milk, contaminated water, during bathing. In the family, a contact-household transmission of infection is possible.
