THEATERS
“Dowry” by A. Ostrovsky. Directed by Pyotr Fomenko. Starring Polina Agureeva, Natalya Kurdyubova, Evgeny Tsyganov, Ilya Lyubimov. The play is about the times when the chimera of commercial success literally burns out empty space in their souls, and if some, like Larisa Ogudalova, refuse to live in such a world, then the rest resign themselves, but they are sad, bored, and neither Paris nor steamships make them happy , nor gold mines... “Workshop of Pyotr Fomenko”, New Stage , 19.00.
“The Cherry Orchard” by A. Chekhov. Directed by Mark Zakharov. Starring Alexandra Zakharova, Leonid Bronevoy, Alexander Zbruev, Anton Shagin. The characters of the play, randomly and exultantly milling about on stage, do not look quite adequate. It is impossible to understand what they want, what they are talking about, what they are doing here and what it all means. However, the artists of the old Lenkom guard still hold their own, trying to create a coherent and consistent character within the general madness. Lenkom , 19.00.
"Gaft's Dream, Retold by Viktyuk." Author Valentin Gaft. Directed by Roman Viktyuk. Starring Valentin Gaft, Alexander Filippenko, Maxim Razuvaev. This performance is already the third attempt by famous sixties artists, known for their liberal views, to play Stalin. Before Gaft, the leaders were Igor Kvasha (“The Flight of the Black Swallow” in the same Sovremennik) and Sergei Yursky (“Evening Bells”, the “School of Modern Play” theater). Probably each of them thought to warn, debunk, show the true face, etc. But every time Stalin turned out to be a large-scale, contradictory, charming, devilish and at the same time suffering figure, unlike his insignificant surroundings... Sovremennik , 19.00.
"Project RW". Quatre El company (France) as part of the “Another Theater” festival on the stage of the Meyerhold Center , 20.00.
MOVIE
“Ten Winters” (Valerio Mieli, 2009). Starring Isabella Ragonese, Giancarlo Giannini, Sergei Zhigunov, Lyubov Zaitseva, Sergei Nikonenko. A love story presented in ten episodes - one for each winter. In a ten-year adventure, the life lines of Camilla and Silvestro converge and diverge... Premiere screening of a joint Russian-Italian film as part of the Venice-Moscow Italian Film Festival. "Artistic" , 19.00.
"Shutter Island" (USA, 2010). Directed by Martin Scorsese. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Raffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Jackie Earle Haley, Elias Koteas and Max von Sydow. An adaptation of the novel by the excellent writer Dennis Lehane. In 1954, Federal Marshal Ted Daniels sails to the island, where a mental hospital for especially dangerous insane people is located, to investigate the disappearance of one of the patients. But very soon it turns out that the island is fraught with much more dangerous secrets than it seemed at first glance. “Europe” 21.10, 22.15, “Five Stars on Novokuznetskaya” 18.15, “Karo-Film on Vernadsky” 19.00, 19.15, 21.45, 22.00, 0.30, 0.45, 3.15, “Atrium” 18.00, 20.45, 22.55, “L” Yuksor in Mitino" 18.20, 21.10, 23.55, “Cinema Park on Kaluzhskaya” 18.35, 21.15, 23.55, “Formula Cinema on Mozhaika” 20.15, 20.45, 23.15, 2.05.
EXHIBITIONS
Semyon Faibisovich. "Obvious." A large-scale exhibition by Semyon Faibisovich, covering the last two periods of the artist’s work: the painting project “Obviousness” of the first half of the 90s of the last century and the cycle “Razgulay”, created recently when the artist returned to painting after a twelve-year break. State Museum of Contemporary Art of the Russian Academy of Arts (Gogolevsky Boulevard, 10), until February 28.
"Handmade Heaven" Painted ceilings and icons from the temples of the Kenozersky National Park (southwest of the Arkhangelsk region). All-Russian Art Scientific and Restoration Center named after Academician I.E. Grabar (Radio St., 17, building 6), until March 7.
"Moscow. 1957." Photos by Leonard Gianadda. The exhibition included a unique collection of reportage footage from the VI World Festival of Youth and Students, to which 22-year-old student Leonard Gianadda arrived as part of the official Swiss delegation as a reporter for the Illustre newspaper. Footage of the festive extravaganza is adjacent to everyday street scenes and images of ordinary Muscovites of that time, no less valuable for history: here are soldiers patrolling the streets, and crowds in the subway, and the faces of people who survived the war and years of repression, and then witnessed what shook the country and the world XX Congress of the CPSU. Department of Personal Collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts , until March 14.
Andy Denzler. "Distorted Fragments." “Photorealism” (another name is “hyperrealism”). Formally, its essence is that a pictorial image consistently imitates a photographic image. It’s as if Denzler is ripping open the thick painterly surface layer by layer, and in the long cuts the blurry outlines of the world appear, as we see it in photographs that are blurry, stratified in color and contours. Gallery ART+ART at Winzavod (4th Syromyatnichesky Lane, 1, building 6), until April 11.
