Tomorrow in Cannes opens the world's largest real estate exhibition MIPIM. This year there will be as many Russian developers who do not get tired of saying about the growth of the market as in the crisis past, Vedomosti write.
“Because there is no money,” said Sergey Polonsky, President of Mirax Group, why representatives of his company do not go to MIPIM this year. Back in 2008, the Mirax stand was the largest throughout the exhibition, and the company treated its guests with oysters with white wine. However, then no one complained about the lack of money: there were 488 Russian member companies participating in MIPIM-2008. This year, 237 companies from Russia were going to the exhibition, of which 78 developers.
In total, about 6,000 participating companies were registered to participate in the exhibition, according to March 12, Milan Kao, a representative of the Milan Kao public relations department, said. Last year there were a little less - about 5500. Then Russia was in the sixth place in the number of participants, and in this moved to the fifth. But Russian companies are represented almost as much: 237 against last year 232.
Few companies decided to go to MIPIM with its own stands - for example, Inteko and Kiev Square. Other companies are exhibited at common stands: "SU -155" - at the stand of Moscow, "Bullfinch" - at the stands of Moscow and the Krasnodar Territory. Representatives of Glavstroy, Miel, Don-Staria go as ordinary participants. Intacu traditionally participates at MIPIM once every two years and this year will show its promising projects, says the company representative of Gennady Terebka. “We want to show a practical solution to the housing issue and count on a response, including the international community,” he explains.
The Managing Director of the Investment-Persian company Alur Mikhail Urinson this year decided not to participate in the exhibition: "When everything is fine on the market, Mipim gives opportunities-in three days you can hold 30-40 meetings, which is unrealistic in Moscow; and there are hardly many investors in the crisis." The CEO of MIIL-NEWS, Maria Litinetskaya, agrees with him. She goes to the exhibition, but her company will not have a stand: "There is no one to carry the projects for."
“We have already shown the old projects, and the new ones are in the initial stages of study, and there is no desire to present them to the public yet,” comments the representative of Capital Group (there will be no representatives of the company at the exhibition) Dinar Lizunov. According to her, the MIPIM format is now interesting to meet and talk with partners: "And this can be done here without unnecessary costs." Rent 1 sq. m of the stand on MIPIM in the palace of festivals this year costs about 800 euros, and on the adjacent Riviera - about 1000 euros per 1 square. m, said one of the participants in the exhibition. The average area of the stand is 8-10 kV m.
