Maxim Kuvshinov from Syzran is 17 years old. He is in 10th grade and is doing well. Maxim has a serious illness - Duchenne myopathy (muscular dystrophy). The boy stopped walking at the age of 8. Since 2001, she has been a member of the Nadezhda Association, a community of sick children, their parents and doctors. Through Nadezhda, Maksim's mother learns the latest news about everything related to this disease. Due to a sedentary lifestyle and muscle weakness, Maxim developed severe scoliosis, which incredibly complicates an already difficult situation. There were back pains, internal organs are deformed. An urgent operation on the spine is needed, which will relieve him of suffering and significantly improve the quality of the boy's life, albeit a sedentary one! Unfortunately, in Russia, such operations are not yet performed, specifically with myodystrophy. But in Europe they successfully cope with this. Through the association, Maxim's mother Maria managed to contact an orthopedist from France and show X-rays of her son's spine. According to her, now is the most suitable age for the elimination of scoliosis. But time is catastrophically short - there are age restrictions for such operations. Orthopedist Elke Wiweger (Marseille) sent a specific estimate, drawn up specifically for Maxim. The amount of the operation, 17,232 euros, is unbearable for a family.
