The newspaper is two years old. Fifty number. 800 lanes. For two years we wrote about a lot, for which we were at the same time praised and scolded. They asked us and ask a lot of questions. Let's try to answer some of them.

Let's start with a response to the often arising misunderstanding about the regional affiliation of the newspaper. Let's say an academician of the newspaper reads at a general meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and in it - speeches against the re -election of the current president of the Academy for a new term. He reads and says: "Well, Troitsk has become insolent!" And another academician says: “Well done guys, pass on hello to your mayor!” As for the mayor itself, officials call him and say: “What your newspaper allows itself!” And he replies: “Sorry, this is no longer ours, this is an all -Russian and even international newspaper. I can't do anything here ... "

In fact, the newspaper is Troitskaya by name, in history, in the infrastructure used. The editor -in -chief lives in Troitsk (and, rather, conditionally), one of his deputies, another member of the editorial office and a layout aider with a corrector. The remaining members of the editorial office, permanent and sporadic authors and, most importantly, readers are scattered throughout the country and around the world. So the correct answer is this: there is no regional affiliation of the newspaper, although there is a certain historical and physical binding to Troitsk.

We are reproached that we are constantly criticizing the Academy of Sciences (in fact - not only her) and thereby playing into the hands of the forces striving to destroy the wounds. Sometimes it is assumed that we are doing this by order of the very effort, sometimes it is allowed that simply by thoughtlessness. It is important to remember: the “critical mass” of members of the editorial board works in the Russian Academy of Sciences and is vitally interested in preserving the academy. We understand what a radical change in the form of management of academic institutions in our realities will lead to (the famous “turned out, as always” seems flowers). But this does not mean that we must adhere to tactics "rally around the dear Leonid Ilyich ...". It seems to us that the main threat of the Academy is just the collective Leonid Ilyich, looking at whom people exclaim in the hearts: “To disperse to the damn mother!” And you can understand their emotions. Just at the top of the Russian Academy of Sciences, people often do not see the academy itself and do not really imagine the consequences of “acceleration”. Our position is simple: the key to survival of the Russian Academy of Sciences (and not only RAS) is a change in leadership and reform. And it is unlikely that the best way to achieve this is to be silent in a rag, listening to assurances that everything is fine at the Academy. And the fact that criticism of the authorities is always declared an order of enemy forces is used to this.

We received quite a lot of criticism (and abuse) about the “raids” on specific persons. There are two aspects here.

The first is the actual reliability of the material. The second is the relevance of the material. The compliance of the actual material is a mandatory feature for which it is impossible to intercede. “Trinity option. Science ”has never entered this line for this line. According to the second aspect, it was necessary to listen to reproaches, which are difficult to object to. The issues of relevance are not amenable to clear and simple formalization. In each such case, issues are resolved collegial. The development of clear ethical criteria and the ability to follow them are obtained by considerable efforts-this is the subject of a rather complicated evolution for both an individual and the team-something is akin to growing up. The right to judge whether we managed to grow up in 2 years, belongs to readers.

They also scold us for criticism of government programs, such as FCP in personnel. What to say? We are glad that the state is trying to finance science, but the heart is torn, looking at how competitions are held. As a good idea of ​​increasing competitive financing, it turns into a farce due to the imperfections of the legislation and unwillingness to establish a normal examination.

So, if a three-hobby takes someone's side, then this is a side of scientists. That is, those who are really engaged in science.

Alas, another type of questions is due to the fact that newspapers are sometimes delivered with a large delay, not always regularly. At the very beginning of the subscription campaign, this sometimes happened through our fault, now the reference process is established, and failures occur due to the fault of the post office. Until now, we sent the newspapers ourselves - in envelopes. Now we move on to the delivery through “scattering”, which, we hope, will work clearly.

A few words about a different form of feedback - reader material support. The newspaper is freely available on the network, a significant part of the paper circulation is distributed free of charge. This is not because we have enough money. We just consider free access to fundamentally important. We do not have a general sponsor that would cover all our expenses. Part of the expenses is covered by Dmitry Zimin from his personal fund, the rest is the support of many legal entities and individuals. In addition to subscribers, and this is especially important for us, people who read the newspaper in the public domain and voluntarily supporting it appeared.
