We all go under God and fly - it happened, the presidents were also crashed: in Bolivia, Ecuador, Pakistan, Mozambique, Burundi ... In 2004, the President of Macedonia Boris Trikovsky died in the plane crash. But all these disasters are not comparable in scale to the present. Together with the presidential couple, Poland lost its state elite overnight - several dozen officials from the highest echelon of the authorities who make important decisions in the state responsible for defense and national security. Among the dead are the head of the presidential office, Vladislav Stasyak, a Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President and his deputy - Pavel Pusykh and Mariush Handzlik, head of the national security bureau Alexander Shchilo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andgei Kremer, Head of the General Staff of the Polish franchise of the Gongor, Ground Directorate of the Ground Forces, Air Force and the Navy, and Special Forces of Special Forces. Tadeusz Buk, Andrzej Bolsik, Andrzej Carveta and Vlodzimazz Potasinsky, the commander of the Warsaw garrison of Gilarsky ... Capellans flew to the Katyn in the Polish army from three main Christian faiths - Tadeusz Plane, Adam Pilh, Miron Khodakovsky. Mourning for mourning

Events in memory of the victims of the Katyn execution were organized by the Polish council of protecting the memory of struggle and martyrdom (Ropwim). In total, 800 guests were expected. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited Katyn with his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin on April 7. He suggested that the EU impose sanctions against Moscow for the embargo for the import of Polish meat. On his initiative, Poland 4 years ago imposed a veto on the beginning of negotiations on a new bilateral agreement between Brussels and Moscow. Since October 2005, when he became president, Kaczynsky never met with Russian leaders, and in Russia he visited only once, in 2007, again in Katyn.

On April 10, Donald Tuska, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslav Sikorsky, reported about the disaster. There is no institute of vice president in Poland. Why did the disaster happen? Weather? Technique? The human factor? Half an hour before the presidential aircraft at the Severny airfield, the military Il-76 from Moscow was supposed to land-the pilot from Smolensk, well familiar with local conditions, controlled by the machine. He landed twice, but in the end turned back to Vnukovo. Why is the presidential liner so persistently - four times! - They put on a landing in a thick fog, although it was possible to calmly sit in Minsk, Vitebsk, and even in Moscow? Perhaps such a turn of events did not want the most Kaczynsky - to wait for bad weather in the capitals unfriendly to him, where by the protocol he should be met by local leadership. In addition, the presidential liners, as a rule, are piloted by the best of the best: at the helm of the “carcasses” of Kacinsky were military pilots from the elite 36th regiment of the Polish Air Force. Since the times of PNR and PORP have sunk into the summer and a normal electoral cycle has been established in Poland, the Polish elite began to learn to live in the means. In Russia, for example, many were already surprised by the fact that the President of Poland flew to the Tu-154, albeit in the VIP installation. The discussion about buying new aircraft for the country's leadership has been going on in Poland for a long time. But Polish society is accustomed to count every zloty, and especially the money that Polish officials spend on providing their own needs. Crisis and recession only strengthened this vigilance.

After the disaster

Katyn, unfair for Poland, the results of World War II and the problem of the Northern Stream gas pipeline - in this, the late president saw three main stumbling stones for the development of relations with Moscow. He sincerely believed that the current Russian leadership would not want to eliminate these stones. The prime minister has a different vision of the situation. And in the tragedy on April 10, he saw a completely different sign: Poland and Russia should make peace once and for all.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in connection with the disaster, announced on April 12, the day of all -Russian mourning. April 10, on the day of the disaster, Vladimir Putin and Donald Tusk met again in Smolensk. The tragedy of Katyni for many decades shared Russia and Poland. I would like to hope that she will now reconcile them.
