On April 22, the Cosmos project was launched - the largest program in history to study mobile phones and their impact on human health.
A quarter of a million people aged 18 to 69, living in Britain, Finland, Holland, Sweden or Denmark, are planned to participate in a long -term study. Cell operators help scientists to recruit volunteers, reports the Rformer with reference to Reuters.
Scientists will study subjects of subjects for mobile communications, view medical documentation and distribute questionnaires. Researchers are interested in where people wear the phone - in the pocket of their trousers, in a breast pocket or in a bag, whether they use the Hands -Free headset and so on.
The study will last 30 years. The purpose of the project is to establish whether there is a connection between a mobile phone and oncological diseases. The World Health Organization gave a negative answer to this question, but at the same time, the WHO experts were guided by the results of short -term research.
Recall, despite the numerous speculations, none of the scientists have yet come to an unambiguous conclusion that the phone has a negative effect on the human body.
So far, some researchers suggest that one of the main dangers, if any, is that the phone is in close contact with the human body, affecting it with electromagnetic radiation.
Other household appliances, for example, microwave ovens, also emit electromagnetic waves. However, there is a significant difference between them and mobile phones: we do not put our heads into the microwave.
In addition, assumptions are expressed that people who often use mobile phones are more often becoming victims of stress, sleep disturbances and increased fatigue.
