Aliyev met with Garein II

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted all Armenians Garegin II in Baku Catholicos, the Interfax-religion portal reports with reference to local media.

Garevin II arrived in Baku to participate in the World Interreligious Summit.

At the meeting held the day before, Aliyev and Garen II noted the meaning of the summit to strengthen the inter -religious dialogue.

Last Monday, following the results of a tripartite meeting in Baku, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, the head of the Muslim Department of the Caucasus Allahshukur Pasha-Zade and Garegin II, a declaration on the Karabakh problem was signed as part of the World Inter-religious Summit.

"Supporting the efforts of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, we intend to contribute to their aspirations. In this regard, we consider it important to continue the direct dialogue between spiritual leaders in order to promote the resolution of the conflict, which will enable people to return to the places where they were expelled by the war," the document says.
