Industry enterprises are returning to pre-crisis sales volumes

OJSC KuibyshevAzot received a profit of 554.1 million rubles in the first three months of this year. In 2009, during the same period, the company suffered losses of 220.6 million rubles. The company explains such fundamental changes in financial indicators by the gradual recovery of the global economy and continues to increase production. Industry analysts note that many companies in the chemical industry received profits in the first quarter.

OJSC KuibyshevAzot (KuAZ) summed up preliminary results of work in the first quarter of 2010. In the first three months of 2010, KuAZ sold products worth 5.4 billion rubles. This is 1.6 times more than for the same period in 2009. This year, the company received a net profit for January-March in the amount of 554.1 million rubles (against a loss of 220.6 million rubles a year earlier).

In 2010, KuAZ increased production volumes of its main products. In particular, the volume of ammonia production increased by 6%, mineral fertilizers by 3.5%, and ammonium sulfate by 8.7%. Much more noticeably, KuAZ increased the production of caprolactam processing products: polyamide-6 by 53.2% (used in the automotive industry, electronics and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial thread by 83.9% (used in the production of rubber products) and cord fabric by 71% (for the tire industry).

The company says that the critical situation in the Russian automotive industry in 2009 led to a significant decrease in the volume of supplies of technical thread and cord fabric to the domestic market. However, according to KuAZ spokeswoman Elena Kosova, the company was able to increase sales of these products by increasing exports to the countries of North and Southeast Asia (export volumes were not disclosed).

OJSC Kuibyshevazot (Tolyatti, Samara region) produces caprolactam and its processed products (polyamide-6, high-strength technical threads, cord fabric, engineering plastics), as well as ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, urea, ammonium sulfate, UAN). One of the ten largest producers of caprolactam in the world. Co-owners: Kuibyshevazot-Plus LLC - 27.99%, Aktivinvest LLC - 10.26%. In 2009, the company's revenue amounted to 16 billion rubles, net profit - 279.8 million rubles.
