Kirov residents were left without drinking water

The 600,000 Kirov was left today without drinking water. During the flood period, city treatment facilities were not able to cope with the load. The degree of pollution of drinking water is 107 % of the maximum permissible concentration, ”Radio Liberty correspondent Ekaterina Lushnikova reports.

Today, the city administration Kirov officially announced the cessation of drinking water supply from the city water supply network. Water from the crane is recognized as dangerous to health. Exceeding the maximum permissible concentration in such substances as iron and ammonia is 1.135 MPCs.

According to independent experts, the cause of the emergency could be the result of pollutants from the waste storage of the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Culturebone.

The city authorities called on the Kirovites to use the columns, but they are far from in all areas of the city. Pure water is delivered to these areas on special machines on schedule. Nevertheless, near the kiosks with not free artesian water (three liters costs ten rubles), lines have already lined up. In stores, too, the most popular product has become ordinary clean water.
