Greece prevents Poland from joining the euro zone

The accession of Poland to the zone of circulation of a unified European currency will be postponed due to the debt crisis in Greece, the deputy head of the Central Bank Vitold Kozinski said on Thursday, Reuters reports.

"Of course, the entry of Poland in the eurozone will be postponed, including due to events in Greece," Kozinski said, "nevertheless, it will happen."

Kozinski became the first Polish official to openly admit that the debt crisis in the eurozone will affect Warsaw's plans to switch to a single European currency. Nevertheless, he did not specify when Poland still intends to join the Eurozone.

In 2008, Poland said that she would like to go to the euro in 2012, but after the start of the global financial crisis, it was no longer about specific deadlines.

Reuters surveyed by Reuters believe that Poland can join the Eurozone in 2015, although they doubt that the Center government will have enough political will to achieve the satisfaction of the strict criteria established by the EU.
