The traffic police will install another 500 video cameras in the suburbs, fixing offenses

As part of the project to equip the road network near Moscow, 500 video and cameras. This was announced by the head of the traffic police in the Moscow region Sergey Sergeev. The terms of implementation of the project will depend on financing, but 40-50 complexes should appear on the roads near Moscow until the end of this year, Sergeyev pointed out.

A month and a half ago, 35 new Strelka-ST complexes fixing the violation of traffic rules, Interfax reports on the federal highways of the Moscow Region. One sensor of such a complex is able to fix up to four lanes on the roads in both directions. In addition, it contains the functions of fixing violations during rebuilding, driving along the side of the road, in the case of leaving the oncoming lane. However, so far these functions are not involved, since administrative legislation does not allow this.

The head of the traffic police near Moscow noted a huge preventive effect of installing photo and video recording complexes. As an example, he cited one of the sites in Krasnogorsk, on which such a system stands. According to him, the number of fixed violations in this area decreased by more than ten times. If at the time of installation the camera recorded up to 300 violations daily, now - up to 22.
