One policeman from the wounded with a terrorist attack in Derbent remains in serious condition


According to updated data, as a result of the explosion that occurred on Friday at the station in Derbent, six people were injured, including three policemen, Interfax was told in the law enforcement agencies of Dagestan.

"The senior police sergeant is in serious condition. Two more police officers were chopped with glass fragments; they were assisted on the spot, they were released home," the agency’s interlocutor said.

He noted that the injured police officers provided law and order at the station. In addition, according to him, among the wounded there is a foreigner - a citizen of Azerbaijan. Earlier it was reported that as a result of the explosion, a woman died, five more people were injured.

The source also said that the home -made explosive device laid down in the garbage urn worked at the moment when the Makhachkala train arrived at the station - Derbent dropped out passengers. “As a result of the explosion, the train wagon was damaged,” he said.

The interlocutor of the agency said that with dawn, measures began to establish the power of an explosive device. “Explosion engineers work on the platform,” he explained. The source noted that the law enforcement agencies of Dagestan had information on the preparation of the explosion.

The explosive device worked on the station platform in Derbent at about 21:05 Moscow time Friday. According to the official representative of the SCP of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin, the criminal case on the fact of the explosion was opened under Art. 205, 222 and 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorism, illegal turnover of weapons, murder).
