Russian cinema is experiencing a difficult period. Cinema is a multimillion -dollar business, and the economic crisis could not but affect it. Experts say that a sharp reduction in investment in film production will make itself felt next year. What will we show in domestic cinemas and what will I send to international festivals if today a competitive movie theater is produced extremely few? The state to support domestic cinema has created a special fund through which the film production will be financing, but the choice of production companies that will receive state support causes many questions and concerns. An internal split is also deepened: more than a hundred people have already announced their desire to join the movie union, an alternative to the “Mikhalkov” Union of filmmakers. How will all this affect the main thing - on the art of cinema? Will commercialization lead to the loss of creative potential and the triumph of primitive?
