International Children's Day is celebrated on June 1 around the world. Parents in Russia should pay more attention to raising their children, and not just speak, but really understand that there are no other people's children, children's human rights activists and public figures believe.
The first International Children's Day was held in 1950. The United Nations supported this initiative and announced the protection of the rights, life and health of children one of the priority areas of their activities.
The problem of cruel treatment with children remains relevant for Russia. So, last year more than 108 thousand children were subjected to violence in the Russian Federation, while 1600 thousand children died at the hands of adults, and 2400 thousand health was caused by serious harm. About 50 thousand children annually run away from home due to cruel circulation in the family, RIA Novosti reports.
“Children in modern Russia do not know their rights, and no one explains them. And adults, unfortunately, do not protect them and do not strive to protect them. Adults who have repeatedly been repeated that there are no other people in our country, should finally fulfill this covenant,” said the children's Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov.
According to him, in Russia it is urgent to solve the problems that children face daily, this is children's pornography and the threat from the Internet. “But the most important question that needs to be resolved is to stop violence against children, which, unfortunately, our society has swept. Do not talk on the topic whether you can slap a child or not, but simply stop the murder and torture, and violence against children,” the human rights activist said.
The chairman of the support fund for children who find themselves in difficult life situations, Marina Gordeeva recalled that children have all the rights that any person has: the right to life, to education, to health, to the family, to development, corresponding to age.
“The first of June is such a day that allows you to look at these questions from the point of view of today, and today we pay special attention to issues of cruelty with children, because family well -being is the basis of the foundations for the rest,” said Gordeeva.
Moreover, according to her, the problem of cruel treatment with children cannot be solved by the weaning of children from dull and irresponsible parents. Practice shows that children who find themselves in an orphanage often run away to their parents who are deprived of rights.
“Yes, we solved the problem - we took the child from the family. We somehow did the flywheel in a few decades, and some believe that this is the protection of children. Yes, this is a marriage in work, and should only be considered,” said Gordeeva.
“This is not a solution, this is the creation of a new problem for the child and for society. It is necessary to conduct preventive programs that would help not yet to gain strength to gain strength for normal raising children,” the head of the fund noted. Gordeeva noted that annually in Russia, 60 thousand parents lose the right to raise children.
In her opinion, first of all, it is necessary to form a friendly environment in the family. “It is necessary that the way of life itself takes into account that we all have parents and have children in one way or another, so that the parental function is revered and respected. Because often the parenthood is considered as a big minus at work, although practice shows that family people are more responsible at work,” said Gordeeva.
She emphasized that parents should pay more attention to their children. “The family is now being built in such a way that both parents should work. Moreover, this is not only here, but also in the countries of the European Union this situation,” said the head of the fund. Parents even have a little time that the children can devote to them with greater responsibility and understanding of their role, Gordeeva noted.
The Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Andrei Fursenko also turned to Russian citizens on the eve of the Day of Protection of Children.
"In Russia, on this day, attention is focused on each of the 30 million young citizens. And for us adults, this is, first of all, a reminder of our responsibility. Parenthood is the most important work of life that requires complete dedication. After all, each child is talented, and parents should contribute to its disclosure," Fursenko said.
