Iranian TV showed an interview with a nuclear physicist who was “abducted and tortured” by Americans

In Iran, the IRIB channel (Islamic Republic of Iran BroadCasting) showed an interview with the Iranian nuclear physicist Shahram Amiri, who had missed last year. According to Tehran, agents of American special services abducted the young scientist. As the physicist said in an interview, in the United States he was tortured and psychological pressure. Nevertheless, Iran’s Foreign Ministry states that Tehran does not consider the possibility of exchange of Amiri in the US citizens detained in the country, ITAR-TASS reports.

Amiri's interview was shot on April 5, 2010. On the air showed a record lasting only 4 minutes. According to the channel, the interviews were received by Iranian special services "special methods" - which one, journalists did not explain. In the video, a person who is represented by Shahram Amiri reports the details of his abduction. According to the scientist, the kidnappers made him an injection of a potent sleeping pill, and he already woke up on board the aircraft flying to the United States.

At the time of the interview, the physicist, he said, was in Arizona. As Amiri said, during all 8 months of stay in the United States he was tortured. According to the scientist, he was also forced to give an interview to one of the influential American television channels and in it to inform about his significant role in the implementation of the Iranian nuclear program. In addition, as the physicist noted, in an interview he had to say that he was going to ask for political asylum in the United States.

According to the scientist, he had to say that he had important documents and a computer with secret information. On the record, the physicist urged human rights organizations to make efforts to release him and return to his homeland.

The US claims that Amiri got into contact voluntarily

Earlier, Iran accused the United States of kidnapping Shahram Amiri. According to Tehran, in the early summer of last year, the scientist went from Iri to Saudi Arabia as a pilgrim to Muslim shrines. However, during this trip, the physicist was abducted and later transferred to Er-raid to Washington.

American sources, in turn, argue that the central reconnaissance department (CIA) actually put a hand in organizing the escape of Amiri to the West. However, Washington claims that no one abducted the scientist, and he himself decided to move to the United States and begin to cooperate with the CIA.

Prior to his mysterious disappearance, Amiri worked at Tehran University, Malek Astar, who maintains close ties with the Islamic Revolutionary Corps. There is also evidence that the physicist worked at the secret reserve plant for the enrichment of Uranus in the Kuma, about which Iran reported the Magate last fall.

Tehran is not going to exchange Amiri at the Americans caught on the border

Despite Iran’s confidence that Amiri was abducted, in Tehran, nevertheless, he does not consider the possibilities of his exchange for three US citizens detained in the Islamic Republic. This was stated on Tuesday at a briefing in Tehran, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry Iri Ramin Mehmanparast.

According to Mehmanparast, the three Americans are under investigation that illegally penetrated Iran. For this reason, the exchange of talk does not at least until the end of the investigation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that physics abducted the special services of the United States and Saudi Arabia. In his opinion, this suggests that Washington is ready to use any methods to achieve his goals.

Three US citizens - Shein Bauer, Sarah Shurd and Joshua Fatel - were arrested in Iran in June last year. They were detained by Iranian border guards in the area of ​​the Western Province of Kurdistan adjacent to Iraq. The Americans had entrance visas to Iraq and Syria, but there was no Iranian visa.

As the detainees themselves stated, they traveled around Iraq and ended up in Iran by mistake. Iranian special services believe that Americans can be involved in the organization of last year's riots in Iran.
