The pirates who stole two Russians - North Spirit crew members in May off the coast of Cameroon, demand $ 1.5 million for their release, Jour Cameruns newspaper writes on Wednesday with reference to bandit representatives.

The attack on the North Spirit vessel (Saint-Vinadin flag and Grenadina, the manager-the Greek company Balthellas Chartering SA) with the Russian-Ukrainian crew was committed on May 16 on the Raid of the Camerun port of Duel. Two crew members were stolen - captain, resident of Vladivostok Boris Tersintsev and senior mechanic, a resident of Arkhangelsk, who had previously been captured by the invaders of the Arctic Sea dry cargo, Igor Shumik. It soon became known that the stolen sailors were transported to Nigeria , RIA Novosti reports.

"The hostages will not be exempted until the owners of the vessel will pay one and a half million dollars," the newspaper quoted the representative of the organizer of the abduction of the Outbuild, the militant known in the region nicknamed "Three Lions".

The diary also reports that the abductors forced Captain Boris Tersintsev, during a connection with shipowners, to describe the conditions of their content. According to the captain, they are contained "in bad conditions" in the area of ​​mangroves, and the senior mechanic Igor Schumik suffers in acute diarrhea due to the poor quality of drinking water.

Together with the stolen members of the North Spirit crew in Nigeria, there is a sailor - captain of the Lithuanian refrigerator of Argo Dmitry Bashkirov, who was almost at the same time in the area of ​​the port of Dual, almost at the same time.

On the fact of the robbery and abduction of citizens of the Russian Federation, the Main Investigative Department of the SCP of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Nesterenko said that behind the abduction of Russians there may be a "movement for the liberation of the Niger delta" - the largest rebel group in Nigeria. She is known for the kidnapping of hostages with the nomination of political demands later. Nigerian rebels themselves previously stated that they are not related to abduction.
