Media: Russia was left without Israeli drones

Negotiations on the sale of Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia are frozen after the intervention of the Israeli government, the sources of the Haaretz newspaper, close to the country's defense system, say.

The Israeli Aviation Industry Concern (IAI) and the Government of the Russian Federation were negotiated on the construction of a plant for the construction of unmanned aerial vehicles using Israeli technologies, as well as the direct sale of the UAV.

The volume of the transaction was estimated at 300-400 million dollars, notes Newsru Israel . 200 million - the cost of building by Israeli specialists of the plant in Russia, which will be engaged in the creation of unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, annually IAI had to sell ready -made UAVs to Russia.

The reason for the freezing of negotiations was the fear of the Israeli leadership regarding Russia's receipt of technologies to create silent unmanned aerial vehicles. At the moment, it is known that attempts by Russian experts to copy technologies, including Israeli, were unsuccessful.

Israel is intense to the supply of Russian weapons to the Arab and Muslim world. According to the Israeli, there is serious reason to believe that the technology for building an UAV received by Russia will ultimately fall into the hands of the states hostile to Israel.

Recall that Russia purchased in Israel a test batch of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in 2009. In April 2010, it became known about the purchase of another 15 drones .

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation recognize that 5 billion rubles were spent on the development and testing of domestic drones. All efforts ultimately did not bring any results, so it was decided to purchase UAVs from Israel.

Nevertheless, Russia still hopes that the country will learn how to produce its own unmanned vehicles. “I do not exclude that in the very near future those unmanned complexes will appear that will fully satisfy the requests of our Ministry of Defense,” said Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, deputy director of the Federal Service for Military -Technical Cooperation.
