The Russian men's team confidently held away matches with Egypt, which managed to take one point from our volleyball players during the games on the court of the Yantarny Sports Palace in Kaliningrad. In Cairo, in the first match, the most productive for the Russians was diagonal forward Maxim Mikhailov (16 points), and in the second - blocker Dmitry Musersky (13). The captain of our team, Alexey Kazakov, came out onto the court only on Friday. Now he only needs to score one point to reach the milestone of 2000 points won in official matches for the national team. In terms of the total number of games as part of the main team of the country, Kazakov is second only to Sergei Tetyukhin (270 versus 271).
Thanks to the defeat of the Olympic champions Americans from Finland, the Russians further increased their lead from second place. Italian specialist Daniele Bagnoli's team has little effort left to make to get a ticket to the final tournament in Argentina (July 21-25). Prepared by Ilya TRISVIATSKY | |
