The main reason for the split was disagreements about the Russian candidate for the September elections of President FIDE. The ex-chairman of the Board of the RShF Bach and some of his supporters supported Anatoly Karpov, although the NS immediately put forward the current head of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. At the same time, Bach slowed down the process of registering the new RShF Charter, which significantly limited the legal and financial aspects of the organization.
“Indeed, the work of the RShF was paralyzed for several months,” Ilya Levitov told the news correspondent. - The issues of signing contracts with the sponsors of the federation remained unnecessary, a fee was not paid to the FID to participate in our teams in the chess Olympiad and so on. Now, thanks to the constructive actions of the members of the Supervisory Board who made the necessary decisions, the situation is formed and RShF restores normal activity. The contribution to the FID was already paid, and the extreme date was July 1, we quickly solve other accumulated problems. ”
Ilya Levitov is a well -known man in the chess world. He is familiar with many of our grandmasters, co -authored with Evgeny Bareev, he wrote the most interesting book “Notes of the Secondant” about two matches of Vladimir Kramnik for a chess crown. “I am engaged in consulting, and chess is my hobby and hobby,” Levitov explained. - When Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich came to the leadership of the chess federation, he asked me to help in a number of directions- PR, contacts with sponsors, and providing national teams.

The decision was adopted on the convocation on October 11, 2010 of the extraordinary Congress of the RShF with the next agenda of the day: on amendments to the charter of the RShF and on the chairman of the rule of the RShF. As for Alexander Bach, his departure from the post of chairman of the board of the RShF was peacefully and without conflicts. Moreover, Arkady Dvorkovich noted that Bach’s many years will be used in organizing the largest chess tournaments held in our country, Mikhail Taly-2010 and Aeroflot OPEN-2011. Thus, the conflict within the RShF can now be considered completely exhausted, on all issues of the agenda of the National Academy of Sciences, to which the heads of the Federation commissions, representatives of the chess community and the central media were invited, a unified position of voting participants was demonstrated.
Last Monday was the last day of receipt of applications for candidates for President FIDE, the elections of which will be held in September at the General Assembly in Khanty-Mansiysk. Two candidates: the current head of the International Chess Federation Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and ex-champion of the world Anatoly Karpov. The first is officially nominated by Russia.
