The leading Russian search engine "Yandex" launched the new Orange engine, which allows you to find fresh information a few minutes after its appearance on the Internet, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the company's press service.
The new engine is aimed at finding the latest links. There are sites on the Internet that are not updated for a long time, and resources on which new pages appear every day.
Orange goes around the pages in a certain order, starting with materials with fresh and important information (importance is determined by several criteria, for example, by media reports or the number of certain requests). After Orange finds and downloads new pages on the search engine servers, the search engine indexes them and puts them out in the search results, where they become available for user requests.
According to Yandex, from 2% to 8% of requests are daily related to the events that happened recently. Yandex processed information about such events earlier in a few minutes as part of his Yandex.NOVES project. However, the number of sites from which news information is collected is limited. The new technology made it possible to increase the number of resources constantly checked by the search engine (in the future it is planned to increase even more).
The Orange engine was developed by the California office of Yandex with the participation of Moscow employees.
In June of this year, Google's largest search engine also announced the emergence of a new Caffeine technology, which allowed the company to reduce the time between the emergence of information on the Internet and the moment when the search engine is known about this.
