The letter to the President, signed by more than 2,200 scientists, mainly focused on the need to improve the competitive funding system in general and the preservation of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Humanitarian Fund in particular. The deplorable state of application of 94-FZ during competitions was also described. But it is important that the matter was not limited to the letter.
