Eighty -year -old Maria Nikolaevna Silakova sits on the porch of the hostel of the Beloomut College and rubs her eyes: tears flow from smoke. Since July 29, when a forest fire destroyed her native village Mokhovoy, this is a gray five -story building for her - a new house. As for the remaining 299 fireworks from the moss and neighboring village of Kadanok. The Beloomut College is the first of the temporary stops. By the end of August, when students return, local authorities promise the victims to resettle somewhere else. “My apartment was good, one -room. Recently changed the impetus, made the doors, ”complains Maria Nikolaevna. - I have been at the factory all my life with a stoker. For a good job they gave it to me. I was so happy, so rejoiced ... And now some huts remained. The dress is a dirty quilted jacket. The savings bank burned down, a bundle to the funeral. Even the passport burned out. I am lonely, childless. Thank you, my neighbor Oksanka saved. I only jump out of the house and managed to. ” She holds her knees and constantly fits her hands with a small gray sports handbag, with which schoolgirls usually walk. This is the only thing that came from a huge bunch of things packed in the lobby of the hostel. They were brought to fireworks by local residents and gave free merchants from the market. Maria Nikolaevna can not find a suitable robe or dress. “Little, I am too much,” she makes excuses, and then somehow doomedly adds. “After all, no one helped us, no one even warned.”
The fire approached Mokhovoy on the night of July 28-29 from several sides at once. Most of all they were afraid of fire from the forest, and four fire engines worked there. They managed to stop the flame. And in the charred ruins - as during the war - the village turned a flame that came from a completely different side - from the side of the cemetery and Beloomut. It happened at seven in the evening. Firefighted fire allegedly did not notice, although the Mokhov resident Alexander Kapustin, who was traveling to work in the neighboring village at 6 in the morning, assures that the flame was already visible then. According to local residents, firefighters did not extinguish him, because they could not decide who was responsible for this site, and when they finally decided, it was too late.
Mokhov residents sat in their homes to the last. “The niece came to me at the 12th day of the car. And I pulled everything, asked to wait. We were sure that they would warn us, evacuated if the danger was real. No one thought that they could just leave us. Threw it, ”Anna Lesina states the vinaturated. According to the teacher of the kindergarten of Mokhovi, who refused to name her name, only at three in the afternoon, already suffocating from smoke, she gave the last child to her parents.
About five in the evening, people began to take out furniture out of the houses. Grandmothers went around the village with icons. Closer to six, panic began. “The flame with a spruce tall. And who is in what, all run. The rumble stood like a jet aircraft. I myself saw how small children, a year and a half, were taken out on a motorcycle. One way remained - through the neighboring village of Ryazanovka. We broke through smoke. It was too late to think about cattle. Only the dog was taken. On the exit from the village, the cork was formed. Someone falls from cars, sparks ... My wife shouts to me: “Return back! I can't breathe! " I told her that we have only one way - forward. And so we got out, ”recalls Alexander Kapustin.

"Evacuation? There was no evacuation. Officials lie when they say that the bus was sent that only those who did not want to leave. Those who had their own transport, were able to hit, who did not, remained in the cellars or fled to the forest for certain death, ”Tatyana Saiko adds indignantly. According to official figures, 9 people were killed in Mokhov. However, the oldest resident of the village, 85-year-old Evdokia Epifanovna Mikhaleva, is sure that there is much more: “15 people, a minimum. Mostly the elderly and lonely burned, who did not have cars. Now they are looking for them in the forest in houses. Today, only mother and son were buried. Even the flowers on the road remained. Both in the cellar suffocated, there was nothing to go on. It was a good woman working, 70 years old. ”
In the assembly hall of the technical school is hot, stuffy and smoky. The whitewashing is crumbling from the ceiling. Nurses give out mineral water and masks. A few days after the fire, many Pogorelians remain in what they jumped out of the house. Someone was picked up to someone, but it does not fit in size. The Governor of the Moscow Region Boris Gromov appears on the stage. In a ironed shirt, carefully combed, he seems to be a man from another world. Most of all people are interested in two questions: why are we not evacuated and where will we live? The official likes the first question clearly less, and he answers him uncertainly: “I understand your situation. The prosecutor’s office will understand this. ” Boris Gromov is better aware of housing for the victims: by October, the authorities promise to resettle everyone in new apartments.
Mokhovites constantly argue among themselves, where it would be better to build new houses. Old men want to return to the usual places, but most refuses to return to the ashes. “There is a swamp. Again, peat, which is constantly on, ”explains Anna Lesina. The governor promised that each family herself would decide where to live on, but the choice for Pogorelsev made Vladimir Putin as a result: 16 hectares were allocated by the Government of Pogorelians in the same swamps under the village of Beloomut for the construction of new houses.
Pogorelians do not really believe in the promises of officials. “Everything, everything will receive compensation promised by the government for the loss of property and for the dead,” said Governor Gromov. “Even those who lived in the village without registration.” However, as Tamara Kovalenko and Alexander Kapustin, officially registered in the Lukhovitsy, told The New Times, but for two and a half years, who lived with their parents in Mokhov, in the local administration, they have no rights to compensation. They managed to escape from a terrible fire. But now you have to enter a protracted war with local officials.
