The head of the Mosleskhoz was resigned

The head of the forestry department in the Moscow region and Moscow Sergey Gordeyichenko was dismissed. According to RIA Novosti, the official representative of the Ministry of Agriculture Oleg Aksenov, this decision was made by the Minister of Agriculture Elena Skrynnik. Aksenov explained that this decision was made in connection with the criticism of President Dmitry Medvedev against the leadership of the Mosleskhoz, as well as based on the results of an audit of the actions of the head of the department in emergency conditions, prevailing as a result of forest fires.

On Monday, Medvedev said that the leaders of forestry, who, despite the fires, did not go to work from vacation, must be fired. Gordeyichenko went on a three -week vacation in the midst of natural fires raging in the territory subordinate to him. Aksenov did not specify who will replace Gordeychenko as the head of the Mosleskhoz.

Another official who was faced with criticism for the decision not to interrupt leave due to fires was the capital's mayor Yuri Luzhkov. On August 6, his spokeswoman Sergey Tsoi said that there was no need for Luzhkov’s return to Moscow, since in the city where a strong could and multiple excess of the norms for the content of carbon monoxide and suspended particles were observed on that day, there is no “critical situation”.

Two days later, Luzhkov interrupted his vacation. Subsequently, he made a number of statements about the situation in the city. In particular, he called on the persons who failed the program to protect the peat bogs, adopted in 2002 after strong natural fires.

Natural fires due to abnormal heat and droughts rage in 17 constituent entities of Russia. In the seven regions, including in the Moscow region, an emergency regime has been announced. According to the latest data, 52 people died in fires, about 3.5 thousand people were left without shelter.
