Intel released the first dual -core processor for netbooks

Intel has released its first dual -core processor for N550 netbooks, RIA Novosti reports.

Atom N550 supports the memory of the DDR3 standard and a 64-bit set of processor instructions. By default, the systems with ATOM N550 are equipped with an integrated 3D-accelerator Intel GMA 3150, which was used earlier with the same cups.

A dozen nobox models from leading manufacturers have already entered the United States. Many manufacturers (Acer, Asus, Fujitsu, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, MSI and TOSHIBA) have already announced models with this processor.

The appearance of the ATOM N550 should have a significant impact on the netbook market. Thanks to the new Intel processor, manufacturers will be able to produce relatively inexpensive and productive machines that can work for a long time from batteries.

In Russia, netbooks based on ATOM N550 are not yet available. The press service of the Acer company reported that such computers should appear on sale "at the end of September - November."

Semolian Intel Atom processors are of good efficiency, but at the same time they have relatively low performance. This does not very comfortable user's work with “heavy” applications, for example, games or complex sites built on Adobe Flash technology.

Intel claims that ATOM N550 computers will offer the same time as a time as netbooks with a single -core ATOM N450, without requiring additional space for heat removal, which will install the chip in existing structural options.
