The solid Moscow delegation, led by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, visited the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region. As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov promised, since 2018, the launch of all Russian manned spacecraft will be completely carried out from there. Three years before, launches of carriers with various loads and satellites will begin to be carried out from the cosmodrome, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to Ivanov, in the place that is now called the cosmodrome, part of the Strategic Missile Forces with mine installations was previously located. From here, four commercial launches of mobile trunks were made. “Although this site is called the cosmodrome, but in reality it has never been here. At the same time, when determining the place of the future cosmodrome, the designers stopped on this site. They proceeded from the fact that the Trans -Siberian Railway passes, the Chita -Khabarovsk and the Amur Water Artery was built,” added Ivanov.
At the first stage of construction, which will last three years, "special attention will be paid to the creation of a runway for receiving transport heavy aircraft of the Ruslan type.
"The aviation message will increase the operational activities of the headquarters for the construction of the cosmodrome. So far there is only one access to the cosmodrome: along the highway from Blagoveshchensk, but the path is not close and takes three hours," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Ivanov said that the government allocated 24.5 billion rubles for the construction of the first stage - "this despite the crisis." The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that the cosmodrome would be built much faster than the Chita-Khabarovsk road was built.
A wide infrastructure and a city with a population of 30-40 thousand people will be created around the cosmodrome.
In turn, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin noted that Russia intends to continue cooperation with Kazakhstan and French partners, since "the demand for space services will grow. And therefore it is important for us to have our own cosmodrome."
He noted that "by 2011 it is necessary to create an organizational and managerial structure, in 2015-2016 the first starting complex should be built, in 2016-2018 the second stage of the cosmodrome should be passed, in 2018-2020 the first manned flights from this cosmodrome."
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized that a social structure should develop a leading pace, residential buildings, new sports facilities, hospitals and schools should be built.
Putin recalled that recently the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Baikonur cosmodrome and the launch of the first satellite of the Earth, and next year it will turn half a century by Yuri Gagarin, the legendary flight. The Vostochny cosmodrome, in his opinion, is designed to continue these traditions.
"It will provide the country with independent access to the space space, including for manned flights, for promising programs for the study of the moon and Mars. The launches of all types of spacecraft will be carried out from this site in the interests of Russia, and by order of our foreign partners," Putin said.
Before the meeting, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the scheme and layout of the future cosmodrome.
Explaining the scheme, the head of Roscosmos Anatoly Perminov informed the prime minister that it is planned to build two launchers on the cosmodrome, the corresponding infrastructure for the preparation of missiles for launching, installation buildings.
In addition, a special complex is being built for the preparation of astronauts and for a medical examination. He emphasized that the construction of a runway is important important.
The Prime Minister, having examined the boundaries of the future cosmodrome, advised him to agree on the withdrawal of land with a margin, so that, as he emphasized, "then there were no problems." Modern technology, it will be ten times less to occupy the area than Baikonur occupies and three times less Plesetsk.
Answering one of the questions, the Prime Minister said that on the territory of the cosmodrome it is necessary to lay 150 km of railway tracks and the same number of ground roads. As for energy supply, this object, thanks to the launch of a nearby Burey Hydroelectric Power Station, will be the most powerful in energy supply.
Then the prime minister opened a memorial sign in connection with the start of work on the construction of the Cosmodrome. It is located on a large granite block with the inscription: "It will be built here by the cosmodrome." Turning to the block, Putin said: "Consider that the beginning is laid!"
