The ex-head of the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate became vice-president of Olympstroy

Former head of the Moscow police department, Vladimir Pronin, has been appointed vice president of the Olimpstroy state corporation, the corporation's press service told Gazeta.Ru. As follows from the message, the appointment was made at the end of July.

Pronin headed the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital in 2001-2009. President Dmitry Medvedev dismissed him from office on April 28, 2009. This happened after the tragedy in the south of Moscow on April 27, when the head of the Tsaritsyno police department, Denis Evsyukov, staged a shootout in a Moscow supermarket.

Two people became victims of the militiaman, six more were injured. Evsyukov was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Earlier, a Novaya Gazeta source in the presidential administration reported that Olympstroy could be headed by the head of Interros, Vladimir Potanin. According to the source, the Kremlin and the White House are dissatisfied with the preparations for the Olympics. The source of the publication claimed that the last straw was the storm, which in December 2009 actually destroyed all the facilities of the future cargo port at the mouth of the Mzymta River.
