In London, more than a thousand people went to the march of protest against Pope politics

More than a thousand human rights activists gathered on Saturday in Central London, where in the next minute a large march of protest starts against the policy of Pope Benedict XVI and against his visit to the UK, which takes place these days, RIA Novosti reports.

Protesters, among whom are not representatives of any religious groups, namely human rights activists, actors, writers and journalists, gathered at 13:30 local time (16:30 in Moscow) at the Hyde Park, where the Primate of the Roman Catholic Church will hold a great worship on Saturday evening.

The march will pass along Piccadilli Street and then past the residence of the British Prime Minister on Dauning Street.

The action prepared for a long time was organized by the interactive movement “against the pope”, which is headed by an activist in the protection of human rights and the open atheist Peter Thatchell. He is sure that thousands of people will take part in the march in London, since the protests against the politics of the Pope received the support of some British national newspapers and many celebrities.

So, the day before the Pontiff's visit, on September 15, more than fifty British celebrities wrote an open letter of protest against the Britain of the Pope as the Head of State as the head of state and against his views regarding abortion, safe sex and attitude to sex brigades to the Britain.

Among the participants in the march is the world -famous fantasy writer Terry Pretechet and actor Stephen Fry, who also signed a letter.

The current action will be the largest protest during the Pontica stay in the UK.

The organizers of the action, as they say on their official website, have nothing against the Pope come to the UK and turn to his supporters, but they believe that in Britain Benedict XVI "teaches people how to live, frankly climbing our life sustainable and our laws."

Protesters are unhappy with the policies of the Vatican to prohibit condoms, thus indulging the number of large families in the poorest countries. Activists are dissatisfied with the propaganda of separate learning, the ban on abortion, the failure of sexual minorities, as well as the denial of numerous cases of pedophilia among Catholic clergymen who have shocked the whole world recently.

However, regarding the last point, protesters are forced to admit that for the current visit the Pope in public speeches has already recognized these facts twice, expressed deep disappointment in connection with these cases and apologized on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church.

The protesters also oppose the fact that British taxpayers had to pay for the Pope of the Roman, to whom this trip cost 12 million pounds.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, dad already served in the main Catholic cathedral of the country - Westminster Cathedral, and also met on the square in front of the Cathedral with 2.5 thousand children from all over Great Britain, representing all possible faiths. Benedict XVI also turned to the people of Wales, expressing sadness that he could not come to this visit. The Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron also took Pontiff.

Later on Saturday, Benedict XVI will also pass along the central streets of London to welcome tens of thousands of people who are already starting to gather in the way of his follow.
