Explosion and fire at a large oil factory in Ufa: no one was injured


An explosion occurred at an oil refinery in Ufa on Friday in the afternoon and a fire occurred. According to the latest data, the emergency managed to liquidate, none of the employees of the enterprise was injured.

The incident occurred on the territory of OJSC Novo -Ufim Oil Refinery - one of the largest in the Russian Federation in terms of primary oil refining. Initially, an explosion thundered, and then at the refinery, which is located in the industrial zone of Ufa, a fire began, RIA Novosti reports. Other sources do not confirm the explosion data.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies for Bashkiria, at 15:45 Moscow time, a tank of 5 thousand cubic meters occurred in the plant in the plant with the subsequent destruction and fire of the remains of the oil product, and then a fire arose.

Now the fire has been completely eliminated, ITAR-TASS reported in the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies in the republic. The forces and means of the Ufa garrison of the FPS, more than 80 personnel and 24 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

There are no dead and victims. There is no threat to the population, local authorities assure. A commission was created to clarify the circumstances of the emergency.

At the same time, the refinery is a leader in his production. Primary oil refining of the plant is 17.4 million tons per year.

OJSC "Novo-Ufim Oil Refinery" produces 10% of high-octane gasoline produced in Russia, and its share in the production of oils exceeds 7%. The main owner of the factory is Bashkir Capital LLC, 19.9% ​​of which belongs to Novil.
