Nevertheless, experts of national cinema art argue that there is no political background behind this choice.

"We chose this film for the best production, and he makes the honor of Brazilian cinema and pays tribute to Gloria Pires, who is the perfect candidate for the prize of the best actress," said the President of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema Roberto Farias.

According to the agency, the episode telling about the children's years Lula, which was born in 1947 in the town of Caeses in the northeast of the country, makes the greatest impression. As shown in the film, the Lula family, in which, in addition to little Louis, there were seven more children, for a long time lived in extreme poverty, until, finally, the mother of the future president decided to move to San Paulo, the economic capital of the country in search of the best share.

This year, in the job of an Oscar, established by the American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, 95 countries will take part. Prize winners will be named on February 27, 2011.

In 2009, Oscar for the best film in a foreign language went to the Argentinean tape "The Secret in their eyes" (El Secreto de Sus Ojos) Juan Jose Campanella.

The presidential election will be held in Brazil in October this year.
