Ecuador President accused the police of trying to kill him

President of Ecuador Rafael Correa believes that the demonstrators wanted to unleash a civil war in the country. The president is confident that "the riots were a political conspiracy, and the protests against the reduction of the salaries of the police served only as a reason."

UNASUR Foreign Ministers unanimously expressed their support to the legal president and government of Ecuador, and also condemned the actions of the rebels. South American countries came to the conclusion about the need to develop a document that would provide for opposition steps in case of such situations.

Correa declared a three -day mourning in Ecuador due to the death of three people as a result of riots. According to the latest data from the Ecuador Ministry of Health, 2 police officers and one student died from gunshot wounds. About 200 people were injured. Another 5 people became victims of riots in the largest city in the country of Guayakile.
